Our Story

Jared Hoeft is a freelance composer, performer, and teacher living in Fargo, North Dakota. His music draws inspiration from a wide variety of styles, including classical, popular music, metal, jazz, and new age. Jared teaches private piano, percussion, and composition lessons. He performs regularly with his wife Amanda, and as the accompanist of the Fargo-Moorhead Gay Men's Chorus. Additionally, Jared works as the music director and composer-in-residence at the First United Church of Christ in Fargo.

Jared began studying piano and percussion at a young age.  In 2005, Jared first attended the Junior Composers' Institute, a summer program for young musicians interested in writing original music, and this inspired him to pursue composition as a lifelong vocation. In 2009, Jared began pursuing a bachelor of music at Concordia College in Moorhead, where he performed in numerous ensembles, and met his wife and music partner, Amanda. Since graduating in 2013, Jared has had two original choral anthems premiered by the First UCC choir. In addition, Jared is now self-publishing sheet music of original compositions. Amanda Hoeft is a flautist and teacher living in Fargo, North Dakota. She plays a variety of music including classical, arrangements of popular songs, and jazz. Amanda performs regularly with her husband, Jared, and as a second accompanist for the Fargo-Moorhead Gay Men's Chorus. Amanda teaches private flute and piano lessons.

Amanda began studying piano at a young age; then in 6th grade she picked up a flute for the first time. The next year, Amanda began private flute lessons and  started performing. Amanda attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota studying flute performance and playing with many ensembles including the Concordia Band and Flute Choir, and a flute quartet. Since graduating in 2012, Amanda has been building her flute and piano studio. Some recent performances include a solo concert, weddings, and the FMGMC concerts.
